Can I purchase a single article?

Articles are available for purchase by credit card on a pay-per-view basis from this website. Find the article you would like to purchase and click on the Full Text or PDF links. Once you have registered or signed in to your account, a payment form will appear for you to fill in. You may not (i) distribute a copy (electronic or otherwise) of the article without written permission of the journal’s publisher/owner, (ii) post the article on an electronic bulletin board or web site, or (iii) charge for a copy (electronic or otherwise) of the article. If you would like to order reprints (print or electronic version) please contact Darren Gillgrass to request a quote.

How is online access enabled?

We can offer site-wide access by IP restriction as a subscription option in addition to a print subscription or as an alternative. Once we have your IP address for the institution location, every member within your institution can access your journal(s) directly and instantly from the desktop. Librarians can register as the administrator of their online account and manage their IP addresses through Your Account.

How do I subscribe?

Please use our Informa Healthcare catalogue website to purchase online: http://catalogue.informapharmascience.com. You can also contact the Customer Services team at [email protected]m.

I recently subscribed to a journal. When can I expect my first issue?

Subscriptions run for the calendar year (January – December). For example, a 2010 subscription runs from January – December 2010.

I am unable to access a journal.

If you are experiencing difficulties when trying to access your journals, please contact your librarian in the first instance. If your librarian is unable to resolve the issue they will contact us for further assistance.

I’m an editor – how can I access my journal on informapharmascience.com?

You will need to register on informapharmascience.com and then activate the token provided by the Informa Healthcare managing editor. Contact the managing editor or publisher of the journal directly with any questions about tokens. If you do not know their contact details please contact [email protected] and they will be able to redirect your request.

I’m a society member – how can I access the journal?

Please contact the society support team at [email protected] and they will be able to assist you.

Why am I denied access to the full text or PDF options of an article?

Access to content of the journals is restricted to those subscribers who have selected the online subscription option. If you have an online subscription and are still experiencing problems, please contact our Customer Services team immediately. If you are not a subscriber, you can still purchase individual articles on a pay-per-view basis.

What is an access token?

Access tokens allow users to activate online access to one or more Informa Healthcare journal subscriptions or gain access to individual articles on the InformaHealthcare.com web site. To enter your access token, login and visit Your Account page and click the Access tab.

Why should I register?

By registering you will be able to setup TOC alerts and saved search alerts. You will also be able to manage your favorites list of journals and articles.

As a librarian, you can also manage your subscriptions, online access rights, link resolvers and view your usage stats.

It’s easy to register with Informa Healthcare. Simply complete our registration form

If you are a librarian, you will need to send your username and details of your subscription (i.e., invoice number or customer number) to the Customer Service team and they will assign you to your account. You will then be able to access the institutional administration area.

How do I view usage statistics?

COUNTER-compliant usage statistics are available through your institution’s account management area. As the librarian, you need to have registered as the administrator of the account to access these. When you login, click Your Account and then click the tab Institutional Administration followed by the Usage tab. You then have the option to select the year, the format of the report and whether you would like to view the report online or receive it via email. If you have not been assigned as the administrator for your account, please register and send your username and details of your subscriptions (i.e., invoice number or customer number) to the Customer Service team and they will assign you to your account.

Content questions

Informa Healthcare publishes more than 180 journals. A list in alphabetical order can be found on the journals page.

A simple search is available on every page and an advanced search can be used to narrow your search results.

Can I save my search?

Yes – by registering on the site, you can save your searches. You can also receive an e-mail alert when new articles match your search.

How do I request table of contents alerts for a journal?

Login and view Your Account and then click the Alert tab to setup TOC alerts. You can also request to be notified when articles are made available ahead of print.

What is the difference between the PDF and the PDF Plus file?

The PDF Plus file has the same layout as the print journal and has the additional benefit of reference linking; the PDF file does not contain these links. We recommend that you use the PDF file for printing and view the PDF Plus file online.

Author questions

How do I submit a manuscript?

The Editors welcome unsolicited article proposals. In the first instance, please direct a very brief summary, together with working title and author contact details, for the attention of the Editor of the title concerned (see the journal Aims & Scope page for the contact details). Manuscripts should follow the format set out in our instructions for authors. You can also view examples of previously published articles.

What is the peer review process?

All articles submitted for publication are assessed by independent experts. The journal Editor will collate and convey this feedback to the author together with any editorial recommendations for style and presentation.

Migration questions

Why was the move from Informaworld necessary?

The combination of medicine and pharmaceutical science titles simplifies the customer experience in one new, easy to use, robust platform that will deliver online content and archive material from more than 180 journals.

For users, this will provide a one-stop-shop for their content. This will make the user experience more efficient as readers will be pointed from one article towards other articles of interest within the same site. With the high volume of content in multidisciplinary areas, this will enable the user to cut out several steps in their search process.

Also, the site will be host to extra supplementary material such as webcasts, podcasts and alerts. This will mean that users will need to register with fewer sites to gain access to relevant material.  For administrators, the site enables similar journals, currently hosted on multiple platforms, to be managed on one platform. Usage statistics and account management activity can be performed at this one website.

What advantages does this site have for the customer?

End users tap into a comprehensive one stop-shop for content, saving valuable search time. Users will be able to search through more than 276,000 articles for relevant content.

Administrators can review online journal subscription information and download COUNTER-compliant usage data. They can set up openURL links and download an SFX-compatible holdings file. Administrators can also enter or modify IP addresses and trusted proxy servers, and additional administrators can be nominated. The site can be personalised (with institution’s logo featuring on the site).

Will links redirect to the new platform?

Many journals are indexed by MEDLINE, EMBASE, Current Contents and other databases. We are also members of CrossRef, ensuring that readers can access referenced Informa Healthcare content from articles available through other publishers. All links on these databases will continue to direct users to Informaworld until we have completed the customer and subscription load. By staggering this change, we will ensure that customer access is setup correctly before redirecting end users to the new platform.
